One-Point Perspective Drawings

Students learned how to draw in one-point perspective.  Drawing in perspective helps the artist achieve realism, depth, and space in the artwork.  They also considered the composition of their artwork and carefully balanced the objects on the page.  Students applied their knowledge by drawing square or rectangle objects flying towards you in space!

One-Point Perspective Aerial View of City

Students learned how to draw in one-point perspective.  Drawing in perspective helps the artist achieve realism, depth, and space in the artwork.  They also considered the composition of their artwork and carefully balanced the objects on the page.  Students applied their knowledge by drawing an aerial view of a city in one-point perspective and coloring their buildings look help their city look three dimensional!  

Paper Marbling (Suminagashi) and Haikus

Each student made several beautiful pieces of marbled paper using liquid watercolor paint and shaving cream.  Then they wrote a Haiku, a Japanese style of poetry that uses syllables of 5, 7, 5, and wrote it on their beautiful paper!  Double click the image to make it bigger so you can read some of the Haikus
